Molecule Group

Sustainability Starts at the Molecule
We drive policy outcomes for sustainable fuels, chemicals and materials by shaping international commitments, advocating for standardized market rules and building consensus across borders and industries.

A Platform for Global Collaboration
Through targeted workstreams, we aim to support the policy and market transformations necessary to grow sustainable molecules globally—in line with international climate and energy dialogues at the International Energy Agency (IEA), Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM), UNFCCC (COP), and other meetings of world leaders and decisions makers like G7 and G20.
Each Molecule Group workstream creates space for structured, technical collaboration on key policy opportunities and eliminating market barriers. The goal is not only to support political ambition but also to define practical next steps for building trusted, credible, and scalable markets for sustainable fuels, chemicals, and materials.
Molecule Group’s 2026 workstreams are designed to catalyze collective action, inform policymaking, and build a durable foundation for sustainable molecules in the global economy.

2026 Workstreams
Molecule Forum
Our international workshop series convening stakeholders to advanced sustainable fuels, chemicals and materials; 2026 events in Washington DC (G20), Brussels, Saudi Arabia (CEM) & Australia (COP)
International Affairs
Engagement with international processes, especially in 2026, Agriculture, with a focus on bio-solutions from Ag and Forestry, featuring numerous dialogues, showcasing events and sharing of learnings to be aligned with the USA G20 presidency.
ILUC Reconsidered
Revisiting indirect land use change (ILUC) from a fresh, science-based perspective, exploring updated approaches that reflect real-world land dynamics, agricultural productivity gains, and ecosystem services
Impact Accounting
Developing a framework document describing how upstream GHG benefits of sustainable fuels, chemicals, and materials can be recorded and recognized within corporate climate targets and emissions reporting
Chemicals & Materials
Unlocking the full potential of bio-based, synthetic, and hydrogen-derived products in non-fuel applications by examining sustainability criteria, market access, and lifecycle analysis methodologies
Filling Gaps in the Advocacy Landscape
Molecule Group was created to augment the work of existing leaders in the Sustainable Fuels, Chemicals and Materials space. We are committed to filling gaps and adding value.
